Iran claims that the fate of the Vienna negotiations is dependent on Western actions.

Iran presents its last package of recommendations and emphasizes that major choices will need political action on the part of Western nations.

Iran's capital, Tehran, has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In response to the submission of its final proposals, Iran stated that any potential breakthrough in the Vienna talks aimed at restoring the 2015 nuclear deal with world powers is contingent on political decisions by Western nations. Iran also stated that any potential breakthrough in the Vienna talks is contingent on political decisions by Western nations.

On Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian stated that if a deal is reached in Vienna and sanctions are withdrawn today rather than tomorrow, it would be better for the country. Amirabdollahian was speaking at a press conference in Tehran with his Irish colleague Simon Coveney.

"Consequently, we are in a rush to reach a decent deal, but it must be achieved within the framework of reasonable negotiations and in accordance with the rights of the Iranian people," he said.

Iran's foreign minister further urged on the United States and European signatories to the nuclear deal to "stop toying with the wording and time" of the accord and demonstrate their political will by "stopping playing with the text and time."

Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said in a tweet earlier on Monday that the discussions in Vienna had progressed to the point where a conclusion might be announced depending on the United States' attitude.

The Iranian delegation's chief negotiator, Ali Bagheri Kani, also spoke with Shamkhani on Sunday, according to Shamkhani, who expressed his belief that the Iranian team faces a difficult task in sticking to its agenda and that Western parties are continuing to put on a "show" of political will in order to avoid fulfilling their commitments.

In a statement issued immediately after the announcement, Wang Qun, China's senior nuclear negotiator, acknowledged that Iran has submitted its "last package" of suggestions in response to a previous Western package, indicating that the discussions, which started in April 2021, had reached the "final stage."

The eighth round of discussions, which seems to be the last one, is anticipated to produce results within the next few weeks, as Western parties maintain that there is only a limited amount of time left to rescue the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) (JCPOA).
